I'm planning on taking the Kaplan online course to study for the OAT for ~3 months this summer and taking the exam right before school starts again at the end of September. I wanted to work full time while doing so since the Kaplan course is so expensive and I want to make some money back because of it. I definitely need to take the course, otherwise I will not have any motivation to study. This means I will be working 40 hours/week Monday-Friday. The only time I have to study will be during...

Offering OAT Tutoring
Hello there. I will be starting optometry school in the fall and wanted to offer my assistance to anyone who might be interested in obtaining some tutoring for the OAT. I took the test last April and obtained a 380 (400 biology, 400 gen chem, 350 org chem, 320 physics, 390 math, 390 reading).

OAT genchem
I have been doing practice questions with OAT Achiever and OAT destroyer.
OAT achiever will have general chem questions which have the equations as the answers for some questions
OAT Destroyer has a lot of questions with the final answer and you have to do a loot more calculations and estimating.
For those of you who took the OAT were there any questions with calculations, for ex 2(3)/5(.10) listed out or mostly final answers?
TIA. Also just to make sure, there is no strikethrough option...

RC advice
Just wanted to share my RC experience.
I found that using the Search and Destroy method was the most effective. I made a quick outline of each paragraph (barely reading it) and then moved on tothe questions. Anytime I saw a general idea question I immediately skipped it and returned if I had time.
For more abstract passages however, I always read through it carefuly

Kaplan Course Yes or No?
I'm taking my OAT exam this summer (end of June) and I'm going to start studying in the beginning of May.
I've been considering taking the Kaplan OAT Anywhere online course (the $1400)... I'm pretty hesitant paying that much money for it if I'm not sure whether it's worth it or not... If anyone has or hasn't taken the course, can you please tell me your experience and how else you studied for the exam?
I'm a pretty well motivated student that has done well in the science courses so far so do...

Hey. I know this question has been asked a million times, but I've spent the last 30ish minutes searching old threads/posts but to no avail. Can people post how their real scores compared to the scores they were getting on Achiever? Yes, I know it's meant to be harder than test day etc, but no one actually mentions how much of a difference it was. Thanks! =)

Emailing Admissions about OAT Scores?
Has anyone emailed the admissions office of the schools they were looking to apply to, to see if they would recommend retaking the OAT. My TS is a 320 and my AA is a 310. I want to go to PCO and was thinking about emailing the admissions office to see what they think of my scores. I'm not sure of etiquette when it comes to this. Thanks in advance and if you've tried this approach, and don't mind, can you post your scores and in general what the admissions office said? Thanks

RC: 290 (I'm really disappointed and disgusted with this one)
Bio: 360
Gen Chem: 360
Organic Chem: 320
Physics: 300 (not too great either)
TS: 350
AA: 330
Do you think a I've got a shot with these, or should I write the test again? Oh, and my #1 school is ICO. Thanks in advance!![:)]( "Smile :)")

MY COMPLETE OAT EXPERIENCE (4/25/15)
So the day before my test all I did was read other "My Oat Experience" posts and it really helped me to see what other people went through and how their scores reflected their practice. So I decided to write my own experience story for others who are going through the same thing I was.
The day before my test I didn't do any hardcore studying at all. I just looked over my review sheets that I made and some flashcards and of course read all the forum posts on here.

I just took my OAT recently it was way lower than I expected. I am wondering if I should still apply with these or retake it and then apply to UHCO. Anyone know people who got in UHCO with these stats?
